Chemical Capture Training
Chemical Capture Training is an 8-hour DSHS approved continuing education course that is designed specifically for Animal Control Officers. The course will cover safety, operation of projectors, equipment responsibility, public perception, and care of the k-9 after capture. We will discuss different types of projectors but will focus on the pnue dart projectors and darts. The class will conclude with scenario training and projector firing.
Instructor
Ray Rentschler
Ray worked in the Animal Services field since 2000 in various roles. He retired after 22 years with the City of Arlington and now teaches full time. Ray was trained by Safe Capture in 2006 and preformed most of the field sedation for the City of Arlington, Texas between 2009 and 2019.

Chemical Capture
